Anyone who owns a Droid X knows that it's a power hog. Heavy Droid X users can empty a standard battery within a few hours. This little box will keep a spare battery fully charged and waiting for a quick swap. It also has a USB connection for charging your phone. A pink light glows brightly to let you know that the battery is charging. It changes to blue when the battery is fully charged. This is a handy accessory that should be indispensable for heavy Droid X users who don't want to be tethered to a charger.

These smartphones are pretty great except that the batteries run out in no time, especially if you have a toddler playing games on it. My phone is always on, and the battery dies a lot of times without me even knowing about it. So I bought a few extra batteries on amazon for less than ten bucks and this little gadget. I figured for less than 20 bucks (half the price of one of those motorola extended life batteries) this was worth a try to solve the problem.
This was a quick, cheap, and EASY fix. The light on the unit is bright pink while battery is charging, and bright blue when it's time to take the battery off the dock. If you can't stand bright lights when you are sleeping (like from the phone, alarm clock, stereo, etc) you will want to keep this in another room, because it is bright. That is the only possible drawback. For me, I tend to let things over-charge, you know, which isn't good for the battery, so I like that the big blue light to remind me to take it off the dock. Also, the light doesn't blink so the annoyance is minimal.
This is one of the best purchases I could have made. It is so helpful to have charged batteries waiting when I forget to plug the phone in. I worried because I thought that I would let the batteries go stale because I'm not a very organized person when it comes to the phone but this is working much better than I thought possible. I highly recommend getting this unit and a couple of cheap extra batteries rather than dumping a bunch of money on an extended life battery that ultimately won't solve the battery problem with only two extra hours of life and, also, the additional problems of finding a different back for the phone because of the thicker battery and finding cases to fit the larger phone. This is really an ideal solution. I would recommend this to anyone with a droid x.
